But in the Highland Hacienda Project, we set out to prove that function and beauty can live side by side. This laundry room is more than a place to wash and fold, it’s a thoughtfully designed, highly organized, and inviting space that elevates one of the most mundane household tasks into something enjoyable.

Warm, Welcoming Materials

We began by anchoring the room in warm, natural tones. Custom cabinetry in a honeyed wood finish wraps the room, bringing a sense of coziness and craftsmanship. This rich wood tone pairs beautifully with the black countertop, offering a subtle, modern contrast. The herringbone brick floor adds instant charm and durability—its earthy color and timeless pattern grounding the entire space.

Storage That Works as Hard as You Do

Functionality is key in a laundry room, and this space doesn’t compromise. Ample cabinetry offers concealed storage for detergents, cleaning supplies, and household essentials, keeping the surfaces uncluttered. Open shelving above the counter provides quick access to everyday items, while a built-in bench with cubbies and wall hooks creates a drop zone for coats, bags, and shoes—perfect for busy households.

Layered Details

To soften the space and give it character, we curated, vintage gallery wall in warm, muted tones, paired with an oval mirror for balance. A sculptural vase filled with branches adds height and a natural touch, while plush pillows on the bench create an inviting spot to pause. Overhead, a statement light fixture adds a hint of drama, drawing the eye upward and making the room feel complete.
